Photographed in Bergen in August 2016 is the former Norwegian passenger ferry STORD 1 which has a link to Cumbria, albeit tenuous. The restorers of the 1913 built vessel had been looking for a suitable steam engine and fittings for her and discovered that a former RFA water carrier, which had the required engine, had been acquired to add to the steam ship collection at Maryport. A deal was done with her new owners and instead of going to Maryport the vessel headed north to Norway where her steam plant was removed and fitted into STORD.
